About Us
We live and work in Halifax, the capital city for the Canadian province of Nova Scotia. We first met as students at Acadia University in Wolfville, about an hour's drive north. Peter received his B.A. in 1990; Peg got her B.Sc. in 1992, and stayed on for a B.A. in 1993. We kept in touch after going our separate ways in the early 90s, and got back together in 1997, when Peter moved to Halifax from Toronto. Peg had likewise moved back to Halifax in 1994 after a stint in British Columbia.
We were married in May, 1999 at a combined Buddhist/Christian ceremony at Manning Chapel on the Acadia campus, and are in the process of living happily ever after.
Peg works as an Information Technology specialist, and Peter is an advertising and corporate communications executive. In addition to our day careers, we operate Post Meridiem creative services (see the link over on the left).
We both enjoy outdoor recreation, especially hiking and canoeing. We hope to build our own birch bark canoe in the future. One of our favourite spots is the wilderness section of Kejimkujik park, where we spent the 99-00 New Years eve and our honeymoon. Some photos from these activities - except our honeymoon - can be viewed on this site. We are both avid cyclists, even though getting off the Halifax peninsula can be daunting. Peg does a lot of knitting and fiction reading. Peter prefers non-fiction research, and does woodworking as well as playing acoustic bass guitar with local folk/roots musicians, and with Peg, who plays classical guitar. We like finding exotic recipes and making them from scratch. We also like basswood chip carving. Our suggested links for some of these interests can be accessed on the left.
We plan on moving out to the lovely South Shore just outside the city in a little while, and live there in an old house with a golden retriever, a greyhound, dwarf rabbits, a saw-whet owl and a flying fox bat (the last three being culled from the unlikely but hopeful "if-all-things-were possible" file).
